Baptism
Baptism Classes are offered for the parents of a child on the first Wednesday of each month in the Rectory at 7:00 p.m. Godparents are also welcomed to attend the meeting. Please call the Rectory at 228-875-5419 to register.
Baptisms are performed on the fourth Sunday after the 9:00 a.m. Mass. Baptism class must be attended before scheduling a Baptismal date.
If an older child or adult would like to be baptize, they should call the church office to arrange an appointment to discuss their desire with the priest.
Reconciliation
First Reconciliation is offered to children between the ages of 7 & 8 years of age. The child must have attended preparation instruction prior to receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
First Reconciliation ceremony is celebrated each year during the month of February.
A priest is always available for confessions on Saturdays from 2:45 to 3:45 p.m., after each Mass or by appointment by calling the church office at 228-875-5419.
Communion
First Communion is offered to children between the ages of 7 & 8 years of age. The child must have attended preparation instruction prior to receiving the Sacrament of Communion.
Confirmation
Confirmation is offered to young adults between the age of 17 & 18 years of age. Preparation classes begin in the 9th grade at age 14 or 15. Candidates must attend the preparation classes in order to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.
The Sacrament of Confirmation is celebrated in accordance to the Bishops calendar each year.
Adults interested in the Catholic Faith and possibly being confirmed may attend RCIA classes to help them make that decision. RCIA classes meet each Thursday at 6:00 p.m. from September through May.
Marriage
Sacrament of Marriage is arranged between a priest and the couple planning to receive the Sacrament of Marriage. The couple must contact the priest at least six months in advance of the wedding date.
Couples planning to receive the Sacrament of Marriage must attend a six week marriage preparation class.
Holy Orders
The call to priesthood or consecrated life is a beautiful one. It is an intimate and intensive way that God involves us in His project of salvation. Discernment can be a long and difficult process, which is why St. Alphonsus and the Diocese of Biloxi offers programs and resources to support individuals discerning priesthood and religious life.

Anointing of the Sick
The sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick gives strength and support to anyone struggling with an illness. The healing that occurs in this sacrament of anointing is not necessarily physical healing. While we believe that physical healing can occur through the great power of God, the grace that is infused through this special sacrament is the reminder of the eternal presence of God in our human suffering.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church states that when the sick are anointed they should be “assisted by their pastor and the whole ecclesial community, which is invited to surround the sick in a special way through their prayers and fraternal attention” (1516). “Like all the sacraments the Anointing of the Sick is a liturgical and communal celebration…It is very fitting to celebrate it within the Eucharist” (1517).
