St. Alphonsus Parish supports the following organizations:
Altar Society: Contact: Rose Skelton, 228-697-2892. Meets the third Wednesday of each month at 9:00 a.m. in the Parish Hall Meeting Room August through May. The Altar Society plans seasonal liturgical church decor, takes care of altar linens, flowers, and the Sanctuary.
Knights of Columbus: Contact: Carl Brochard, 228-327-0066 or broch57@bellsouth.net. Meets the first and third Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Knights of Columbus Meeting Room. The Knights of Columbus are a group of men who handle various projects for the parish and do charitable work for the parishioners and community.
Ladies Auxiliary: President – Kim Ryan; Treasurer – Rosemary Van Acker 228-217-1285. Meets the third Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the KC Hall. They assist and support the Knights of Columbus with their projects and charitable works.
Lay Carmelites: Contact: Mocky vanThiel, 228-327-1464. Usually meet on the first Saturday of each month from 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon, they participate in an optional Rosary at 7:45 a.m. with Mass at 8:15 a.m. then a meeting in the Parish Hall Meeting Room. Lay Carmelites commit themselves to developing their spirituality according to the guidelines set by the Carmelite Sisters through prayer and attending Mass daily and on the first Saturday of each month.
Family and Youth Ministries: Director, Jane Sema 228-217-1392 or jsema@osstalphonsus.org. St. Vincent DePaul: An organization of volunteers dedicated to help the needy of our community. They meet on Monday at 5:00 p.m. in the Parish Hall Meeting Room. For more information contact the church office at 228-875-5419
Cub Scout Pack 211:
Boy Scout Troop 211: Scout Master, Robert Malloch, 228-238-3298,Robert.malloch@bellsouth.net. Meets on Monday evening from 6:15 to 8:15 p.m. in the Parish Life Center for boys in 5th thru 12th grade. Scouting teaches responsibility and leadership as well as outdoor skills of wide variety of topics for merit badges. The Troop participates in monthly outdoor activities and attends a one week Summer Camp in June.
