Family & Youth Ministries

Family and Youth Ministry Mission:  Supports individuals as they prepare for the Sacraments, to help the youth strengthen their faith as they journey through life and encourage  families to build on their Catholic Faith.

To accomplish the Family and Youth Ministry Mission, the following programs are available:

Catholic Kids Camp: Always scheduled in the month of June. A week long event for children between the ages of 4 to 11 year olds to learn and discover their Catholic Faith through songs, crafts, skits, and faith formation with a different theme each year.  

Church Wedding Advisor:  By an appointment, you may meet with the wedding advisor, Jane Sema, to review what to expect from the Church and discuss the needs for your special day.

Marriage Preparation Classes: Meet for six weeks from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. on arranged dates.  Marriage Prep Classes are designed to prepare couples to understand the meaning of marriage, how God should and can be the center of the marriage and encourage communication skills needed for issues couples will encounter in the future of their marriage.  

Family Events: Different events are planned throughout the year allowing time for families to socialize and meet other families in a Christian atmosphere. 

Life Teen:  Meets on  Sunday’s at 6:30 p.m. September – May in  the Youth Office.

What is Life Teen?

Life Teen is a movement within the Roman Catholic Church, Life Teen leads teenagers and their families into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church.

Allows time for youth, between the ages of 14 to 18, to gather and discuss challenges of daily life and time to socialize.

Planned activities:  March for Life in Washington D. C. in January; Youth Convention in March; Search Weekends (January and February); and fundraising events to help with the cost of these and other events.

Edge (6th to 8th):  Meets on Sunday at 4:00 p.m. September – May in the Youth Office.   Youth meet to discuss Catholic issues they may be facing each day and allows time to socialize with other youth members their age.  Planned Activities:  Diocesan Youth Day Events, Sunset Retreat, one day at Convention in March, and fundraising events.
