Welcome to the Ocean Springs Knights of Columbus Council 5654.
If you would like to talk to a Knight about membership or for more information, call Carl Brochard at 228-327-0066.
This is our January 2018 schedule.
GRAND KNIGHT’S REPORT Carl Brochard Hope you all had a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I would like to thank all for the help and support you gave us during the year.
We will have our 10 week drawing tickets to support the Seminarians. We give all of the profit to the Bishop at the State KC Convention in April. If you could get a book of 5 from either Chuck Nannery, 228-875-0267 or Carl Brochard, 228-327-0066, and try to sell them. It would be nice to be able to give the money to the Bishop. By the way, the southern half of the State KC Councils are challenging the Northern half of how much money we can give the Bishops. For the last 10 or 15 years the Jackson Diocese gave a lot more money to their Bishop then the Biloxi Diocese, so lets get out and either sale or buy some tickets.
We have very few people that paid their dues for 2018. Please send it in as soon as possible. Like we put on all dues notices if you can’t afford them, please let the Financial Secretary Pat Mitchell know and he will work with you.
CHAPLAIN’S CORNER Father Mike March in defense of the unborn during the National March for Life on January 19th. If you are unable to go to Washington due to parish obligations, offer to say the Blessing for Travelers for your brother Knights before their departure.
Invite council members and parishioners to pray a rosary novena for life just prior to the Day of Prayer for the Legal Protection of Unborn Children, January 22nd. You might conclude the novena with a special evening of prayer and adoration at your parish.
FAMILY OF THE MONTH Family of the Month for November is Chuck and Barbara Nannery. CONGRATULATIONS!!
FOURTH DEGREE NEWS Faithful Navigator – Kenny Gonzales First of all, I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
The November meeting could not be held because we did not have a quorum present. Sir Knights, this is really quite sad to think that we could not get eight members present to make a meeting. Let’s all try and make attendance at meetings a New Year’s Resolution. Speaking of the new year, dues bills have gone out. Let’s all try and pay our dues promptly. It costs money and time to send out second notices and to try and track down members to collect dues. Here’s a suggestion, bring your dues when you attend the January meeting on the 24th at 7:00 p.m. at St. Alphonsus. We are always looking for new and useful projects to inject some new life into our Assembly. All ideas are welcome.
Stay safe and enjoy your time with family and loved ones.
